[Kpop Star 6 Ep 3, 4 & 5]

Rules:
The 60 contestants will be divided into groups based on their ability.
They will be rank by the 3 judges and might be eliminated.

Kpop Star did not held an audition near her hometown and her parents did not know about it.
◆ She did not learn chords so she played her guitar by ears.

Since last time she was too nervous to play the guitar,
she took some medicine to calm herself up.

◆ She auditioned for Kpop Star 5 but she was too nervous. JYP just asked

her to stop singing and all the three judges gave her an 'X'. 

Instead, JYP advised her to practice singing in front of people more.

JYP [O] - I could feel your real emotions in your song.

YG [O] - Your singing is good but need to work on your breathing for you to hit the high notes.

YHY [O] - You have a beautiful voice.

YG [O] - Although you're imitating Ray Charles, you did it well. Also, there are you're 

own thing in between.

JYP [X] - I think you don't even know what singing is.

YHY [O] - I was amazed that your attitude is so different when you are singing.

JYP did give him an 'X' but

all the guest judges in JYP Entertainment gave an 'O' to him.

JYP [O] - Mya's dance routine are known to be hard since she mastered different genres of dance music. But you managed to pull it off. Your singing can be better if you know how to breathe.

YG [O] - The best compliment I can give you is 'You're really good'. Your singing is good but you have to fix your bad habit of turning your head at high notes.

YHY [O] - I felt like I just saw the debut of a new idol group.

YHY - "My comment would be that I don't like that you never look at me when you were dancing."

#Her intro just made me cringe. I can't believe the judges actually enjoyed it.

YG [O] - She could form a  group and debut already. She's a good singer and dancer.

JYP [O] - You did very great job in dancing. But your singing is unstable when you sing 

in low or high notes.

YHY [O] - I liked your dance more than your singing.

◆ He works around the clock so it's almost impossible for him to practice.

JYP [X] - I couldn't find anything special from you performance.

YG [O] - You're really good at conveying your emotions.

YG [O] - You're a great singer but it's a bit too much. I wish through this show, you might gain more experience and be more successful later.

JYP [X]- It scares me that you know all your weaknesses but your singing is too old for your age.

◆ He's been singing trot for 11 years.

◆ He appeared in Star King as a trot prodigy and earned the nickname, 'Little Song Dae Kwan'

◆ He never felt that he accomplished his dream. However, during Kpop Star audition, 

he felt his heart racing for the first time

*JYP has to stopped him during his audition and asked him to sing using his own voice 

rather than imitating the real singer.

JYP [O] - You just need to fix your last word.

YG [O] - If I were to compare you to food, you'd be a delicious ingredient. I'd like you to avoid 'seasoning' it too much.

YHY [O] - Honestly it'll be hard to fix bad habit but you did it in front of me.

Han Byul [Passed]

◆ She's been living in Korea since born and can barely speak Swedish

YG [O] - Although it's been 40 years since I started dancing, I'm still amazed to watch you dancing.

◆ He wrote the whole rap himself. It's about how he's the best.

YG [O] - To be able to rap like he does at the age of 10 is crazy in fact.
JYP [O] - He knows what a dance is.

◆ She appeared for a short while because she's surprised the judges and audiences
by acting she was in pain, then suddenly this:

◆ He got teased a lot since his name, 'Jang Gwan', means Minister

#He looks like Nam Tae Hyun at first glance. Hing~ ^^

JYP [O] - You are the Minister of Culture and Witty
YHY [O] - Your musical touch, the joy, the fun were all there and it's not flippant.
YG [O] - I was pleasantly surprise since you sang it in a refreshing way.

YG keeps calling him Cho Jang Gwan-nim which is a very respectful way to call someone.

60 out of 200 contestants were chosen for the next round!

Kpop Star 5 - Top 10 Performances

They made some visual transformation.

They were judged by 100 viewers as they perform with live band.

The 10 contestants were divided into 2 groups randomly and
will be rank in each group.
The 4th and 5th place in each group will be the elimination candidates.

The 100 viewers will vote for the contestants they are rooting for.

■ She sang duet with Big Bang's Taeyang on Fantastic Duo (link) and garnered 18 million views

■ She applied for Kpop Star every season but never make it to the final audition round

■ She wish to hear critiques on her singing from the judges

# I wish she could sweep me off my feet just like she did during Fantastic Duo but I was

disappointed. Maybe she choose the wrong song.

JYP [X] - Being good and different..which one is important? Although you are good at singing, 

for Kpop Star, it's important to be different.

YG [O] - I may agree that there's nothing new about your singing style, but still..

you are a really great singer.

YHY [O] - You sang this song as if it's your own.

Lee Ga Do [Passed]

JYP [O] - She was not nervous and that impressed me. Her mental strength is amazing.

YG [O] - Compared to singer in their 20 or 30's, she is more talented. Her singing and vocalization is amazing.

YHY [O] - I don't know how she could sing like that but I think she's born with it.

■ She was a trainee for 5 years

■ She appeared on Produce 101 (singing competition between 101 trainees) and made it to 31st place before she was eliminated.

JYP [O] - After watching you sing and dance, I feel like I want to train you.

YG [O] - She's like a rehearsed baby tiger. But I think she can make tremendous improvement.

YHY [O] - I can see that you have potential. I'll cheer you on.

■ After watching Sam Kim (1st runner up in Kpop Star 3), she decided to try out her luck too.

■ She was too nervous but JYP suggested Sam Kim to help her play the guitar instead.

# Oh gosh.. I laughed so hard watching her audition. She's just awkward the whole time.

# Sam Kim acted like a true celebrity. I guess it was awkward for him too, 

to meet a fan and seen as a musician now. Stay humble~

JYP [O] - You have unique features, so they come out from your voice.

YHY [O] - I'm touched that Sam Kim could influence you to come here. I think one day, someone would be inspired because of you too.

YG [O] - You're such a charming person. Next time, you need to be more natural when performing.

Sung Yoo Jin [Passed]

■ 23 years old 

■ She was the vocalist of The Seeya

■ The Seeya was debuted in 2011 and was recently disbanded.

JYP [O] - Your voice is shallow. You push the beat back but your voice is nice.

YG [O] - I think you need to surround yourself with the best people for you to be the best too.

YHY [O] - I think you might get more chance to grow here.

Hoon J [Failed]

■ 27 years old

■ He was part of a hip hop trio group, T.L Crow, debuted in 2014.

■ Something happen to one of the member, so the group was disbanded.

■ The group appeared in YHY's Sketchbook and Immortal Songs.

JYP [X] - You must like your own voice. If not, you'll try to change it and become like the way you sang just now.

YHY [X] - You're good at singing but it's not suitable for this show.

YG [X] - The fact that I'm uncertain now could mean I'll still be uncertain on the next round.

YHY advice: Keep trying.. Knock on all the doors, since they might open to you one day.

Jeon Min Joo [Wild Card]

■ She was in TOP 8, during Kpop Star season 2

■ Then, she debuted as a member of The Ark

■ Unfortunately, the company was not doing well so they have to disband

YHY [X] - I don't know how to comment on your singing or make you improve.

JYP [X] - I don't see any development in your singing after 4 years. You're not well-prepared.

YG [wild card] - I can still remember you because I can see your potential. I'm disappointed 

because you didn't tell me earlier on that you want to be trained under YG.

Yoo Ji Ni [Passed]

■ 13 years old

■ She is Yoo Jei's sister (TOP 6 contestants on Kpop Star 5)

JYP [O] - You're such a great singer. Next time, sing like a diva.

YHY [O] - I have doubt at first but she's really amazing.

YG [O] - She brought tears to my eyes.

YG: Your sister was too shy so it's hard to communicate with her.
